I have a Master of Science degree in clinical psychology, and I have been a clinical psychologist for 15 years, and have been in private practice for 10 years.
My therapeutic approach is predominantly person-centered and Jungian psychotherapy, combined with some psychodynamic processes and some cognitive behavioural therapy when it is indicated.
Sometimes I like to add an existential approach when it is needed, because we all believe in an Anchor (irrespective of its name or shape).
In my practice I work mostly with women and mothers , and I am deeply passionate about the unique and deeply engrained challenges often faced by women – childrearing, juggling the many, many hats women wear on the daily, the relentless mental load, the homemaking, the never ending food-prep, and somewhere in between that trying to fit in being someone’s wife/life partner and someone else’s daughter.
I like providing a safe space for women to feel seen and believed, a quiet space for women to figure out which way and what now.
Psychotherapy can often feel like a daunting and intimidating thing to go and do, but it does not have to be. I am not smarter than you or better than you, I just have a few tricks and a bit of extra information I picked up during my 9 years of training, and my 15 years of experience in practice. Mostly, psychotherapy is a relationship founded in familiar and gentle conversation, that aims to lead you to where you want to go.
In addition to my work with women and mothers, I am also the co-creator of Wholistic Mind-Body Integration Therapy with my friend, colleague and Yoga-teacher, Cassandra at Yoga Steps Studio.
Together we created a therapeutic approach that includes both mind and body to facilitate healing on a deep and sustainable level (read more here).
